My legal name is James Gomes. I heard an argument I liked for not engaging with anonymous accounts online. I like that idea, so I am removing the anonymity from online accounts. But I like Jimbo still.

You know that guy that argues with you even when he agrees? That’s Jimbo! He is a habitual nonconformist who loves to argue. Since people are often irrational and or wrong (Jimbo included and yes I'm writing about myself in 3rd person), Jimbo finds it easy to argue with everyone and usually does. Jimbo is learning that most people don't want to discuss and critically analyze everything they say, they just want someone to listen and agree with them. Jimbo is trying to become a better listener, like the ferryman Vasudeva from Jimbo's favorite book Siddhartha.

For most of Jimbo’s adulthood, he was an exercise junkie. Hiking, cycling, running, and working out are still important parts of his life, but intellectual activities occupy more of his time.  He rarely listens to music and prefers to listen to a book when he does workout. He used to love traveling.

Jimbo was the co-host, producer, and editor of the Pilots and Petards Podcast. His favorite films are Goodwill Hunting, Dumb and Dumber, V for Vendetta, and The Matrix Trilogies to name a few.

Reading and Writing: You can learn a lot about someone by the books they read. Here are the books Jimbo has read or wants to read. Jimbo used to spend a decent amount of time on his poetry blog, Read Good Poetry. he was trying to read a poem a day, but it's a lot easier not to read a poem a day.

Jimbo likes to writes for fun.

Podcasts
: Jimbo listens to podcasts or audiobooks nonstop while he drives, cleans, cooks, and or works out. Any task that doesn’t require full attention is perfect for Jimbo to pop in an audio. Jimbo’s favorite podcasts are: People I Mostly Admire, The Glenn Show, Freakonomics,

Other: Below is an example of Jimbo live in the field! Jimbo and the stunning Ms. Nameles saw the total solar eclipse and the northern lights in 2017. What will 2018 bring??? A child. We got married and had a kid in that order within less than two weeks.

2021 update. What did 2019 bring? Nothing memorable. 2020? A pandemic and a move to Rochester, NY. 2021? Nothing memorable. What will 2022 bring??? Probably nothing memorable. Jimbo wants to start a new podcast to hold himself more accountable to engaging critically in the content he consumes. We'll see.
